We've been through the feeds. Here's what's worth going to this week.
**Torquay Hotel**
The long weekend's shaping up nicely at the Tq, with Happy Hour kicking off at 4:30pm. Word is the deals are worth turning up early for, and once you've got a cheap beer in hand the place tends to keep you there through the evening anyway. The sports bar's got the screens sorted if there's anything worth watching, and the kitchen's running full service through lunch and dinner if you need to stick around properly.
Live music's been a regular thing at the Tq, so worth checking what's on over the long weekend specifically. The alfresco area out front is decent for a stretch of the legs and a bit of fresh air between rounds. Reckons if you're staying local or heading down the coast for the break, it's a decent spot to land and get the lay of the land from people who actually know Torquay.

**The Telegraph Hotel**
Simon and Andrew from Trojan are playing the Telegraph on Friday, June 12 from 6.30pm. It's live music night and the rooftop's your best bet if you want to hear them properly while taking in views over the precinct. The Tele's loyalty members get a heads up on this one, so if you're not signed up yet, worth asking about it when you call 03 5222 2471.
The rooftop's the natural draw here, but the main bar works just as well if you want to stay tucked in. The modern Australian menu with Asian and Mediterranean leanings pairs well with their craft beer list, so you can nurse something interesting while the music's on. Given it's a Friday night with live tunes and decent views, the place tends to fill up, so arriving earlier rather than later makes sense.

The Sphinx has Tuesday night poker running through APL, which if you haven't caught on yet is worth knowing about. It's a regular fixture and the kind of thing that builds a proper crowd if you're after some cards and a few drinks. Gets going most weeks and the vibe's solid for that level of play.
Pharaoh's Bistro keeps the kitchen running proper late, which counts for something in North Geelong. Weekly specials rotate through, so worth checking what's on when you're heading in. They do a senior and kids menu alongside the regular pub fare, which means it's actually set up for different crowds rather than just doing burgers and schnitzel endlessly.
The Luxor Showroom books touring acts fairly regularly and handles functions, so keep an eye on what's coming through. It's one of the few spots around here that commits space to live music, even if it's not every week. The sports bar's got the screens sorted for the footy, and there's accommodation on-site if you need to crash rather than drive.
