About
Queen of the West is a Geelong West institution with a history dating to 1856 — originally the Queen of the South, renamed after the town boundaries shifted, and known for decades as The Barking Dog before returning to its heritage name in August 2023. The recent renovation added a 700-square-metre all-weather beer garden with a wood-fired pizza oven and 12 taps, while the front sports bar, restaurant and function rooms were all refreshed. Live music runs regularly on weekends, making it one of the most vibrant spots on the Pakington St strip.
