About Corio
Corio sits about 12km north of Geelong CBD on the Princes Highway, at what was historically the eastern gateway to the city for travellers coming from Melbourne and the north. Established as an industrial and residential suburb in the post-war era, it borders Lara to the north and Norlane to the south. The Gateway Hotel on Princes Highway has long served as Corio's community pub and a practical stop for road travellers heading between Geelong and the Western Ring Road.
