About This Guide
The chicken parmi is a pub staple in Victoria, and Geelong does it well. Whether you want a $13.50 weekly bargain on a Geelong West Tuesday or a proper sit-down $24 meal in a heritage dining room, there's a parmi special in Geelong for every weeknight and Sunday too. The Yardz Hotel on Church St runs the cheapest weekly parmi at $13.50 every Tuesday plus a 'Parmis of the World' menu rotating nine variations every Sunday — neither were on this guide until June 2026. This guide covers only verified deals — prices and nights confirmed via venue websites, Tripadvisor, and direct research. We do not list venues we cannot verify.
If you find a deal that's out of date or know of a great parmi we've missed, drop us a line — we update this page as specials change.

1. The Yardz Hotel — $13.50 Parmi Tuesdays + Sunday 'Parmis of the World'
The Yardz Hotel — known by long-time locals as the Saleyards Hotel — is the cheapest weekly parmi we've verified in the Geelong directory: $13.50 chicken parmi every Tuesday. That's $1.50 less than the cheapest monthly deal at the Belmont and $8.50 below the next-cheapest weekly at Barwon Club. The kitchen backs it up with a $17 porterhouse and pot for the steak side of the table, and a 6pm–8pm happy hour the same night. The bistro service runs 6pm to 8:30pm — arrive earlier rather than later, the room fills out.
Sunday is the other reason to plan a trip: 'Parmis of the World' is the kitchen's weekly card built around nine rotating parmi variations from different cuisines around the world. The themed list rotates, the format is fixed. It's the most distinctive parmi card in the directory and the right call for a Sunday-session diner who's worked through the weeknight specials elsewhere and wants a different take on the classic.
The Yardz is on 77 Church St — one block over and about 600m east of the Pakington Street strip. Sports bar with Fox Sports, beer garden out the back, no website (the venue runs from its Facebook page). Open from 11am seven days.
2. Belmont Hotel — $15 Parmi (Best Monthly Value)
Fifteen dollars for a chicken parmi is genuinely hard to beat anywhere in Victoria, let alone in a 1920s art-deco pub with a rooftop beer garden. The catch: it's only available on the first Tuesday of each month, on trivia night. The full deal is $15 parmis, $25 jugs, $8 wines — so if your timing lines up, this is the clear standout for value. Trivia kicks off from 6:30pm; the bistro food window runs 5:30pm–8:30pm.
The Belmont Hotel on High Street is closed Mondays and opens from 5:30pm on Tuesdays (the other nights open from noon). The rooftop beer garden and live music Fridays and Saturdays make it worth a return visit beyond parmi night.
3. Barwon Club Hotel — $22 Parmi Every Monday
The Barwon Club's Monday Parmi Night has been drawing a loyal crowd for years. At $22 for a classic chicken parmigiana (napoli sauce, ham, cheese), it's the most consistent weeknight deal in the city — every Monday, no need to wait for the first of the month. The plant-based parmigiana is also available at the same parmi pricing, which is a genuine rarity in Geelong pub kitchens.
The Barwon Club is Geelong's premier live music venue — The Bandroom and The Barn host touring interstate and international acts alongside local bands. Monday is quieter, which makes it an ideal night to settle in for a parmi and a pint without the weekend crowd. The pub opens at 3pm on Mondays.
4. Barwon Heads Hotel — $24 Parmi Every Wednesday
The Barwon Heads Hotel runs a Wednesday parmi night from 5pm to 9pm at $24. The setting earns it a place on this list: a coastal pub at the mouth of the Barwon River, with four spaces including a bistro, cocktail lounge, sports bar, and function room. The $24 is on par with the Elephant & Castle, but the drive out to Barwon Heads adds a coastal Sunday-drive atmosphere that you can't get in the city.
Worth pairing with the Thursday steak night ($28 porterhouse) if you're out on the Bellarine two nights running. Accommodation is available on-site for those making a long weekend of it.
5. Elephant & Castle Hotel — $24 Parmi Every Thursday
The Elephant & Castle is a Geelong CBD institution since 1891, and its Thursday Parmi Night has become a fixed point in the social calendar. The $24 parmi arrives with Jackpot Trivia from 7pm — so you can time dinner before the first round and stay for the game. The Jackpot prize grows weekly if nobody claims it, so a mid-run Thursday can mean a genuinely worthwhile prize pool.
The beer garden at the E&C is one of the best in the city. Thursday is table service for bistro dining; walk-ins are welcome at the bar for trivia. The pub is closed Monday and Tuesday, so Thursdays are a true mid-week highlight for the CBD crowd.
